Turning everyday learning into an engaging and manageable experience.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Oyedu was developed as an educational technology project for primary and middle school students. It combines curriculum-related exercises with short games focused on reading, writing, Turkish vocabulary, attention, and memory.

The product was designed not only for students, but also for teachers and parents who need a clearer way to support learning and follow a child’s development.

My role covered UX research, product strategy, interface design, prototyping, and testing—from defining the core experience to creating an interactive product prototype.

Learning Through Play

Traditional exercises can quickly become repetitive, particularly for younger students. Oyedu transforms learning activities into short, goal-oriented challenges supported by clear instructions, immediate feedback, and visible progress.

Different activity types were designed to exercise complementary skills, including vocabulary recognition, reading comprehension, writing, memory, attention, and general school knowledge.

Designing for Young Learners

Designing for children requires simpler navigation, readable interfaces, clear feedback, and limited cognitive load. Oyedu uses visual cues, familiar interaction patterns, and focused tasks to help students understand what to do without unnecessary complexity. User flows and interface decisions were refined through prototyping and testing, with particular attention given to instructions, task difficulty, navigation, and motivation.

Supporting Students, Parents, and Teachers Oyedu was structured around a shared learning ecosystem. Students complete activities and practise skills, while parents and teachers can better understand learning progress and identify areas that may require additional support. This approach extends the product beyond individual games, positioning it as a tool for guided practice and ongoing learning support.

From Competition Brief to Product Prototype Oyedu was developed as a competition project and progressed into an interactive prototype. The process included defining the educational problem, researching user needs, structuring the product, designing its interface, and testing the core experience. The project provided practical experience in balancing educational objectives, children’s usability needs, engagement mechanics, and the expectations of parents and teachers.
